Body Balance Institute specializes in back, neck and joint dysfunction and pain. Our instructors are continuously updating their knowledge by attending various workshops and seminars. Our passion and our purpose is to offer you the latest cutting edge techniques to improve postural alignment, strengthen muscles and joints and decrease or alleviate many types of pain. We also work closely with other health professionals to ensure a specialized, holistic, approach.
How We Can Help
Every modality at BBI is geared towards spine health. BBI instructors teach therapeutic Pilates methods approved by Pilates Method Alliance, which restore proper alignment, precision of movement and healthy whole body movement. As an authorized training center for Balanced Body, our studio brings years of experience and expertise. We are sticklers for teaching authentic methods instead of watered-down versions of Pilates that have become very popular over the past few years.
We are the only studio in the Jacksonville area to offer the GYROTONIC® method which restores space in the spine and joints and re-educates the body to move with fluidity, grace and freedom. We also offer teacher training in this novel therapeutic method.
Our bodywork includes therapeutic massage, massage, acupuncture, and fascial stretch therapy (FST). All of our highly trained specialists have years of experience and offer structural integration work. This specialized work helps deconstruct tight dysfunctional tissues and allows client re-education through homework and movement modalities.
We also specialize in meditative movement and energy work such as Qigong and Healing Touch therapies. All of our therapists are specifically trained and licensed by the best in the industry. Erin Johnson is an apprentice of Damo Mitchell, Lotus Ne Gong International. Vicki Sullivan has been trained in healing touch, the first and only energy medicine profession to achieve accreditation through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE).
