Vicki Sullivan has been involved in teaching fitness for the
past 28 years and is fully certified in Pilates through Physical
Mind Institute. Vicki proudly joined the Balanced Body University
staff in 2009, as a Master Pilates Trainer. She is certified in
the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, and is in the process of becoming
trained in GYROKENESIS®, and becoming a pre-trainer for the gyrotonic
expansion system. Dr. Sullivan has been a registered dietitian and
worked in private practice since 1990. She holds a PhD in Nutrition
Science and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida (UF),
Gainesville, and a masters degree from UF in exercise physiology. She
has conducted over 500 CEU workshops on various health, fitness, and
nutrition topics for health professionals (OTs, PTs, RDs, RNs and
Pharmacists) across the country. Vicki has written and published numerous
papers and educational materials in nutrition and fitness. She teaches
and has been an adjunct professor through the University of North Florida
since 1997. Body Balance Institute shares BBUs philosophy of welcoming
instructors from many different backgrounds to learn the Pilates method and
to make it more available for people from all walks of life. .

Julie Baskin has been teaching fitness classes since 1980 and is certified in Mat 1 and
2, and Reformer 1. She's taught Pilates Mat classes for seven years and Reformer classes
for three bringing precision and focus to her students with keen attention to the fundamentals.
Julie has taught Pilates at Florida State University and has also conducted several
Pilates-based workshops for both golfers and tennis players. She has additional training
to work with seniors. Julie is currently working towards full certification in all
apparatus equipment through Body Balance Institute.

Jennifer Landell's movement background began at an early age as a dancer. Jennifer
attended Western Michigan University where she was introduced to Pilates through the
dance department. After discovering kinesiology and movement science, Jennifer changed
paths and earned her degree in Exercise Science from WMU. In 2000 she found the perfect
way to combine the two passions by completing her full advanced Level 2 certification in
STOTT PILATES.
Jennifer is also certified in Cardiolates and has specialized breast cancer rehabilitation
training through STOTT PILATES and The LeBed Method. Jennifer has further training
including lumbar and pelvis stabilization, shoulder girdle stability, pre-natal Pilates, stability
ball, foam roller, and flex band workout, toning ball workout, Pilates on the BOSU,
Jumpboard Interval Training, Pilates for Golf, and Ultimate Back Care.
Jenny has worked with all levels of clients from beginners and post-rehabilitation to Olympic
hopeful figure skaters, professional dancers and NFL football players. Jennifer loves the
opportunity Pilates provides her to develop motivating workout sessions that suit the
individual needs of her clients.

Naorah Lockhart studied massage therapy and bodywork at the
Florida School of Massage and became a Licensed Massage Therapist
in 1998. She has additional training in Sports, Deep Tissue,
Pregnancy massage and Reflexology. Opening her practice in San
Francisco, Naorah worked extensively with athletes and women in all
stages of cancer. She also taught Infant Massage classes to new
parents and served as a Doula for several families in the Bay Area.
Since returning to Florida, Naorah has become a Registered Yoga
Instructor and continues to study the relationship between movement
and bodywork. She is currently working on her certification as a
Pilates instructor through Balanced Body University.

Lisa Long has been teaching movement enthusiasts for 20 years. As an RYT 500 (Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hours) and a Nationally Certified AFAA® Instructor, she brings a unique appreciation for the individual person to her teaching style. Lisa continues to work towards her full Pilates Certification having completed mat, equipment, and props coursework through both PHI Pilates & Balanced Body University. In addition to group classes, Lisa also works privately with clients – helping them to understand their bodies better, creating new neuromuscular pathways leading to positive change. Lisa is known for her insatiable study of the body & mind, safe movements, and modifications. Lisa is a founding teacher for YogaISC™ - Yoga for Injuries & Special Conditions™.

Cynthia Lyons is a licensed physical therapist with 20 years experience. She received her Pilates training from Polestar. She has specialized in Pilates-based physical therapy for 9 years and has spent time in Australia, South Africa and New York City researching the combined areas. She is a Certified Level 1 Instructor in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® as well as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Cynthia owns Beaches Pilates-Fitness & Rehab, Inc. She is a triathlete, runner, cyclist and world traveler. In fall of 2009, she will begin working on her doctorate in physical therapy.

Theresa Scully is a Physical Therapist and certified Pilates instructor.
She is also an orthopedic manual therapist specializing in the Maitland
Technique and has worked in diverse settings: inpatient, skilled nursing
facilities, home health care, pediatrics, and predominantly outpatient.
Theresa has instructed Mat Pilates since 2003 and is currently working
towards full certification on all Pilates apparatus. She also teaches
Sport Yoga with an emphasis on Ashtanga/Power yoga and was a Jacksonville
Jaguars Roar Cheerleader from 2003-2006.

Joyce Wells has practiced massage therapy in the Jacksonville area for 11
years. She holds a Bachelors degree in Education from Jacksonville University
and has taught massage therapy at Coastal School of Massage Therapy and Remington
College. She became certified in Neuromuscular Therapy in 2001. Her areas of
expertise include Swedish relaxation massage, facial face lift massage, hot
stone therapy, neuromuscular therapy and myofascial release. Joyce has worked
with weekend and professional athletes including golfers, tennis players,
swimmers, runners and triathletes.
