    Kristen Sullivan, originally from Gainesville, Georgia currently resides in Jacksonville, Fl where she is an Adjunct Professor of Dance at FSCJ teaching Dance and Pilates. She is also a Pilates Instructor at Body Balance Institute and PGA TourHealth. Kristen currently dances professionally with Jacksonville Dance Theatre.

    Kristen began her Pilates training in 2001 through her BFA in Dance from University of Nevada Las Vegas, studying Pilates under Dolly Kelepecz. She continued her training while pursuing her MFA in Dance from Florida State University, studying Pilates with Tom Welsh and GYROTONIC® through Anjali Austin. She completed her Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Power Pilates in 2009 and began teaching at Pilates of Vero and AB Fab Pilates in Melbourne Beach, Florida. While dancing professionally with Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre from 2006-2015, she taught Dance and Pilates for the SCDT’s annual summer and winter intensives. Kristen also taught Pilates along the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia at Pilates NY Method while residing in Australia on a year long working holiday visa. Kristen is Balanced Body Barre certified and holds her Level 1 GYROTONIC® certification.

    She has worked and trained under Vicki Sullivan, Nora St. John, Bob Liekens, Dana Eisenstein-Smythe, Stefanie Ellis, Liv Berger, Davidson Reid, and Jayne McAllister. Kristen has completed training workshops including Fascia Works with Marie-Jose Blom, Anatomy in 3-D, Mike Wright’s Pilates for Golf, Pilates for Pregnancy, Pilates for Special Cases, and Pilates for Men.

    Kristen believes that Pilates is not only a form of exercise but a way of life. She is honored to be Balanced Body Faculty.
